Finally able to pay more attention to this here Afrobeat Standard. Presenting a cassette rip of Roots Anabo's seminal 1987 album - Civilisation. Led by Mawuli Nukpese Roots Anabo called its fusion of Ghanaian and Roots Reggae Sunlife Music. Mawuli's Flute work on Atenteben Dub is incredibly soulful. Players on this album include Ekow "Savage" Alabi who has subsequently recorded similar reggae albums on drums; Oghene Kologbo who used to play with fela; Bob Fiscian Ghana's foremost keyboardsman. They also get an assist from Ibo cooper of Third World. Apostolic Jazz and Hedzole are reminiscent of Early period Third World.
Roots Anabo went on to play Reggae Sunsplash reportedly to high acclaim but sadly broke up pretty much after this their sole album.

Hi Guys. I am from Mozambique. I was very young when you came here to Maputo, then, unfortunatelly in the midlle of your shows, you'll left because of death of our President in 1986. Do you rememder that? Are you guys planning to come here to finish up your fabulous shows? It was very sad when you left and we tought that you coming back soon. After 24 years, we still waiting.
