Sikyi Highlife Mode
Boomp3.com
From Mensee da, a track from Ese wani Highlife - an album intended as a follow up to the seminal Sikyi Highlife. Both albums feature Dr K Gyasi's Noble Kings at their glorious best playing Sikyi, a form of highlife they invented. This bit showcases the incredibly deft playing of Eric Agyeman on lead guitar. The song structure is essentially "call and response" with the Eric Agyeman and Thomas Frempong (lead vocals)taking turns. Percussionist Candido (not the Cuban!)gets to shine here as well.

Bamaya - Roots of Highlife
A tribute to Faisal Helwani - the indefatigable warrior for afrofusion. Bamaya can be found on the Roots of Highlife - From Bamaya to Bosoe compilation. For this collection, Faisal had the National Folkloric Company of The Arts Council of Ghana performing traditional folk musical forms, with the backing of his afrofusion out fit- Edikanfo.
